Yellow!
After posting my Easter vignette I felt in need of some more yellow. It's sunny and cheering, goes well with most colours and I'm sure a little does you good.
Not a really bright modern yellow, more of a soft, subdued, vintagey yellow. Like on this teapot - one of my favourites.
Laura Ashley used to be an excellent source of yellow for decorating, not so much these days.
Yellow stripes on a vintage chintz.
Beautiful and intricate ribbonwork.
I'm not about to start re-decorating in yellow, but on a wet and dreary day, what better than a spash of sunshine.
Your tribute to yellow is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pretty, cheery yellow post! The weather here is grey and gloomy right now...the yellow was wonderful! tfs

Lovely yellow things...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHello Lucy I have discovered your lovely lovely blog. Love your shop too x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I love your wonderful collection of yellow. You are definately right about it being a color that can really cheer someone up. Next to pink, I think the softer shades of yellow are some of my favorites and I to have an ever growing collection of yellow pretties. I posted about some of my collection of yellow last year. Not sure exactly when, but if you check my archives, you should be able to find it. Now after seeing yours, it's given me the itch to go treasure hunting again so I can add more!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, actually that shade of yellow is gorgeous and a perfect pick me up for a dreary day!!
ReplyDeleteYellow and orange are not my most favourite colours but I find little bits are sneaking in on pieces I love.....great now I have soft yellow things to look for as I really like your colours there!

ReplyDeleteI love yellow for a nice background for other colors that have more pop. It is very soothing, and so many colors look their best next to the perfect shade of yellow. I enjoyed seeing all your sweet treasures.
ReplyDeleteLovely mellow yellows..what a pity laura ashley stopped doing their soft yellow ranges, love Sue X
ReplyDeleteStunning photos. Yellow is a colour I am never really drawn to, I think it's because it doesn't suit me for clothes. But after looking at all your beautiful yellow things I am beginning to change my mind.

ReplyDeleteVery sweet yellow. I, too, have a few yellow pieces. They really seem to add a bit of a lift.
Did you make the ribbon pieces you pictured in this posting? They are quite lovely!
I always enjoy coming for a visit. Stop by and say "hi" if you have a chance!

ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to think about Yellow. I used your pic and referenced your posting in today's ramblings on by blog. Hope that was okay.
Hugs!

I've always liked yellow (had bright yellow coat when I was about 14...thought I was the bee's knees!) but it's not been so popular, as you say...shame really, such a sunny colour.

ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, what a beautiful celebration of the colour yellow!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of Yellow and always feel it is much underated by many people. It is the sunshine colour and always makes me happy. It is refreshing to see so many yellow clothes in the shops at the moment, so maybe more people will enjoy it.
Happy days to you!
