Should I ban her?

I was at my friend's house yesterday and we got onto the subject of my blog, which she hadn't seen yet, so we took a look.

The conversation went something like this:

Friend: Why have you got a picture of a blow-up rubber doll at the top?

Friend: That picture at the top of the page, it's one of those kinky inflatable rubber dolls isn't it?

Me: No...er...you're kidding me, aren't you?

Friend: No.

Me: Oh My God... is that what she looks like?

Friend: Yes!

Me: No she doesn't... it's my lovely vintage lampshade doll, she's really pretty, she's got a light fitting under her dress, she doesn't look like a vinyl doll at all!

Friend: Yes she does - just look at her red lips and the long black leather gloves and that pose - she looks just like an inflatable vinyl doll!

Me: oh...

So I've hastily changed my banner, I wouldn't want to attract the wrong sort of reader.
I still can't see it myself, but what do you think ladies, does she or doesn't she?

(p.s. apologies for the terrible pun!)

  1. Little Lucy Bloom (I just LUV that name), this looks like a precious vintage doll lamp to me.
You are as cute as can be...I love your sense of humor.

  2. Confession time,

  6. Hi Lucy, well that story made me laugh! that just goes to show what frame of mind some people have !!!!!
I can honestly say that I think she looks great.....some 'ladies' must have 'bleep' minds....eh!

  11. No. I thought she was one of those vintage lady vases. Though in the right light, some music, some candles and maybe a little wine....
    Bah-chicka bow-wow...bah-chika bow wow...

  12. Hi Lucy, I have a few of these vintage dolls, so it didn't cross my mind that she could be anything else! (You have a naughty friend! - hehe!)

  13. Hi Lucy thanks for coming by my blog, I love new visitors especially from good ole blighty.

Well I wouldn't have thought anything of it - I suppose it depends what your out look on life is like - LOL - if your friend thinks it is an inflatable doll .... well .... she's allowed her opinion hee hee.

    best wishes Ginny

  14. LOL! This did make me smile, and I did look twice at her, and well now you mention it, maybe she does.. just a little! Not that I noticed anything before ;)x

  15. Lucy, I was on the fence about this one, that is why I haven't left a comment earlier! I hope I can still be your friend? x

  16. I've just found your blog... and laughed aloud at what your friend said. NO! She certainly does NOT look like a naughty dolly...but, she does look a little like Christina Aquilera! Sorry!
